MM> SH> As far as verse 39?
MM> SH> Now, "THAT ARE AFAR OFF." Compare scripture with scripture. The
MM> SH> key to this verse was found in Daniel 9, (pay attention to v.7)
MM> Daniel 9:7? "O Lord, righteousness [belongeth] unto thee, but unto us
MM> confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the
MM> inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, [that are] near, and [that
MM> are] far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them,
MM> because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee."
MM> How in the world do you pull a scripture that speaks specifically about
MM> Israel and relate it to Acts 2:39? There is no connection.
Peter is talking to ISRAEL in Acts 2. EPHESIANS WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND by
those Jews in Acts 2. In the Old Testament the message is to Israel, and in
the New Testament, Acts 2, the message is to Israel! No connection?
MM> I'm afraid you are searching for "keys" instead of simply believing. You
MM> spend so much time trying to explain why the Holy Ghost baptism isn't for
MM> us, that you're missing the boat.
HOLD YOUR HORSES! I NEVER said the "Holy Ghost baptism isn't for us."
Every true born again believer is Baptized in the Body of Christ and it is
by ONE SPIRIT BAPTISM this is done (1 Cor. 12:13)! And nowhere is it said
in the Bible that the evidence of this Spirit Baptism is "speaking in
tongues."
If a person doesn't speak in "tongues," does this mean he has not been
baptized by the Holy Spirit when he accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and
Saviour???
MM> SH> 5) Acts 2:1-5 is NOT the fulfillment of Joel 2:28-32.
MM> Let's see here. . . . Peter said, "15 For these are not drunken, as ye
MM> suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day. 16 But this is
MM> that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;"
MM> You said, it is "NOT the fulfillment of Joel 2:28-32"
MM> Peter said "it is".
You quoted the verse, now you show me where Peter SAID IT was a
"fulfillment?"
Acts 2:1-8 is Biblical truth which show, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that
the Pentecostal system is anti-God, and anti-Bible in its first, major,
basic premise. Note:
1. Nobody is "praying" for tongues when they come. Nobody is "kneeling"
(they are sitting), and no one is "praying" for the "baptism of the Holy
Spirit."
2. The only people who speak in tongues are *twelve*, circumcised, bearded,
temple-worshipping, sabbath-observing JEWS: "none of the converts (around
3,000) talk in tongues.
3. None of the twelve talk in an "unknown tongues." All tongues spoken are
FOREIGN LANGUAGES (vss. 6-11).
4. No "fire" shows up; only "tongues LIKE AS OF FIRE," and more than "two
or three" (1 Cor. 14) speak, and Joel 2 is NOT fulfilled.
"The explanation for the tongues is not in Joel 2. It is explained in Acts
2:32-33, APART from anything in Joel chapter 2.
In Acts 2:16 NO FULFILLMENT is involved. The "THIS" is simply a reference
to what he is getting ready to quote; "it is not a reference to the
tongues." There are no tongues in Joel 2, and the "rain" there is WATER.
Observe that nothing happens to the SUN or the MOON at Pentecost (Acts
2:20). There are no "wonders in heaven above," within 500 years of the
verse, and no "BLOOD, FIRE and VAPOUR" within thirty years of the verse.
Now you tell me when Joel 2 was fulfilled, because it certainly wasn't at
Pentecost!
MM> You said "it is not".
MM> Who should I believe? Another easy choice.
It certainly can't be the Bible.
