Tam had trouble learning either way. I think it has finaly occured
to us that she lears by doing, which is VERY difficult if the task is one
that you have to know, to do. There is, on things like that, this HUGE
wall that we have to struggle over. Phonics were of some help, so was
sight reading, so was context, and the ability to know typical sentence
structure.
What I was trying to convey is that phonics is a great tool, and if
you HAVE to teach 20 kids at a time, maybe it's what you shoudl use, but
we are the homeschool base. For most of us, the answer can,
fortunately, be more complicated than that.
