I didn't "totally forget" anything. I said

   "If it weren't for the template requirement, I would say
   it is a reasonable question for 3 hours of C++ instruction".

And it was not because I was "baffled" by templates when I first
encountered them, either. They are just not appropriately taught after only
3 hours of instruction.
