I forgot that one. But I'd still use the string manipulation,
as you'd need to use string functions to add the separaters in
the date string.

Ands sorry to be picky but your anaolgy to clock arithmetic has
one big hole in it -- 00.xx = 12.xx AM and 12.xx = 12.xx PM,
whereas by MODULO arithmetic they would be 00.xx AM and PM.

The formula for time conversion is t12 = [(t24 - 1) MOD 12] + 1
