re - Was one of those ...(who could have something really bad happen 
to us and keep on in the addiction) - no I meant to use the present 
tense, as I was thinking of the compulsive overeating or food addiction
that is still very much active in me.  Some really bad things have 
happened - not just my husband's heart attack, but also in my own 
health getting harder and harder to do stuff, etc. and yet I still 
struggle with this addiction.

So I can still see the disease is at work in me and only the Higher 
Power/s know what will happen to me if I ever use alcohol or drugs 
again.  By the way, if I make it to midnight tonight clean and sober, I
will have ten years of sobriety and clean time.  Thanks EVERYONE, I 
couldn't have done it without YOU.
