From: "Paul Ranson"
VC++ 6 is a reasonable match to C++. C++ is defined by an ISO standard
which nobody meets. C is defined by another, and ditto. The only real
reason to use C is historic or due to the unavailability of a C++ compiler.
The last device driver I wrote was implemented in C++, albeit mostly using
it as a stricter C. Any sizeable project will benefit from the design
idioms of C++ compared to C.
IMO of course. And I'm struggling with a monstrous embedded C program at
the moment that really would have benefited. No downside, hugely easier to
get to grips with if designed well.
