let me get this straight...

 trumpet winsock is a windows winsock (i know this from experiance)

 arachne is using a dos based "winsock"???

assuming that, that's why you're having these problems... arachne doesn't
know how to talk to trumpet and the windows stuff doesn't know how to talk
to the DOS "winsock"...

sorry, i've not played with arachne... maybe i should? if so, it would be
on a win98se box...

exactly what tcp/ip networking drivers are you attempting to use, please...
