Hello Brian,
BR>firebellies, 2 Dempseys, 2 convicts, 2 plecos, 1 gourami, one fish
BR>from which I am not sure of its origin, and 2 algea eaters, are
BR>dying. I got good prices on all of them from seperate spots. THey
BR>are all young and I just got hit with the white spot disease. ANy
BR>one out there who knows what that is and what to do, please tell me.
BR>I know what it is, and that it is uncurable. I was just asking if
BR>anyone would have some suggestions. My Gourami is not hit with the
BR>disease. WHen they all die, am I supposed to clean out the whole
BR>tank? I did last time. Is there some kind of cure that wasn't
BR>available 2 years ago when I first had it happen?
White Spot {also known as Ich or Oodinium} is curable. There are
several treatments readily available from most tropical fish retailers.
Over here in the U.K. some of the more commonly available remedies are
Myxazin and Protozin made by a company called Waterlife and Anti-
whitespot made by Interpet. Just follow the instructions on the label
and they do work, hope this is of some help,
Cya, Nigel
