Look into [color] and [nocolor] in the MECCA references of the manual.
Here's a basic WELCOME.MEC that'll send the user to different "sub welcome"
files, depending on what they're using:
[islocal quit]
[onexit]c:\max\misc\bullchek
[rip moreoff cls link]c:\max\rip\welcrip [endrip]
[color moreoff cls link]c:\max\misc\welcansi [endcolor]
[nocolor moreoff cls link]c:\max\misc\welcasci [endcolor]
[white enter moreon]
This should get you started in the right direction. (And this is by no means
a "complete" setup.. experiment for yourself.)
