MB> MM> They started flowering last week and yesterday I found 3 pods
rowing!
MB> MM> Yea! One pod is ready to pick, but I can't cook much with just one
MB> MM> pod. It's time to start watching them daily now though to make
MB> MM> sure I don't miss the pod stage and end up with just peas.
MB>
MB> It's been pretty hot, my sugar snap peas are going out fast, did
MB> get some, and probably one more picking before they're history.
Mine are still going strong... I missed a few in pod-stage, so I'm going to
let hubby try them tonight as peas (they're Melting Sugar - Edible pod or
Snow Pea variety). Can I just freeze these pods without too many hassles? I
mean, just put them in a ziplock bag and throw them in the freezer, or
what? (Can you tell I've never grown them before?)
MB> MM> if you get too close to a gopher turtle, they hiss at you.
MB>
MB> Hope that turtle keeps his distance and doesn't cause you a
MB> problem. I didn't know they hissed, interesting!
So far he stays on his side of the fence and just... watches.
I'm going to try and plant some tomatoes, beans and peppers this weekend.
Have fun, Michele
