Surprise: it's offered to 98/SE, ME and 2k computers as well, on WinUpdate.

Surprise2: it seems to be part of a compendium patch for XP SP2 machines.
Smooth updates so far.

Surprise3: it was NOT offered to either of my XP SP1 machines, even after
waiting through TWO of WinUpdate's punitive scans (the first to shove SP2
down your throat, the second to look for "other critical
updates."  I'm assuming this is a mistake.  I'll wait for the Q number
to show up somewhere.
