It's biggest limitation is that only blocks inbound traffic. Otherwise it
looks like you can configure it to restrict that inbound traffic to
specific ports and/or applications.

I recently started using Sygate Personal Firewall Pro on my own machine. 
It seems to be working, but I haven't had a chance to connect it directly
to the internet (I'm always behind a NAT box), so don't know for sure.
