Actually the heater, should be left plugged in. If the water gets too
hot, due to room temp etc, the heater should remain off. But if a cool
wave hits, it's ready to prevent the temp from dropping too low.
Like where I live, the day time temp may reach 100+, in the summer but
the night temp may drop into the 50's.
High temps, within reason, are not as harmful as large temperature
swings, between night and day.
