When I turned north on the Alaska Highway from Dawson Creek on the 1st, I
noted a lot more change in the colours than I had expected (and I know I
should have stopped but I didn't have the time). I think it may be an
early and a cold winter -- we have more snow on the mountains now than we
did in mid-October last year.
