| subject: | RE: EleBBS: Ele/Linux questions again... |
* EleBBS Support List Thanks Mike, Those links help a lot. I have been thinking of installing the 32 bit version of xp on my new box, but I got the 64 bit processor with the intention of running a 64 bit operating system. I didn't realize that practically none of my hardware and none of my dos software would be supported. I didn't do enough research before getting the system and really didn't expect those caveats to come with the new OS. I've been planning on moving everything over to my linux box anyway though so my services wouldn't go down when rebooting my xp system or playing really processor intensive games. I'm reading all of the tutorials that have been suggested to me, I picked up a rather large unix book and will be researching as much as possible to get this done. And thanks to everyone else. I just hope I can figure this out... It looks fairly difficult. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Ehlert [mailto:mike{at}pcmicro.com] Sent: Saturday, April 29, 2006 10:47 AM To: elebbs{at}thebbs.org Subject: Re: EleBBS: Ele/Linux questions again... * EleBBS Support List Hi Marty, > I'm moving to linux SOLELY for the ability to run dos doors. > I've got xp64 and it refuses to run 16bit software. Have you considered installing XP32 on that PC instead? > Does anyone have a generic faq for running linux bbs'?
