KT> I've decided to give a try at patio

KT> Two questions - Can anyone recommend a good container for the patio

KT> My patio faces the morning to early afternoon sun, and is roughly
KT> about 20' x 5' in area.
I would just recommend the largest container you can find, also
one that is self watering if possible. That makes it easier. I
grow veggies both in the ground and in container. I like to
experiment. I have grown lettuce, peppers, spinach, beets,
carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, and lot's off veggies in
containers. They will do well if they get the right amount of
sun, and if the pot is big enough. You have to kinda of judge
the size of the container by knowing something about how big the
plant normally grows and how deep it's roots are. Lettuce, has
shallow roots so can grow in a small pot. Tomatoes have a
vigorous root system and need a fairly large pot. Some of the
patio varieties don't grow quite as big. You also have to feed
them regularly since they get all their nutrition from the pot,
and can't send out roots looking for better territory if what
they need is not available.
Hope that helps a little, good luck.
