It's not all that cold around here on the coast.  It rarely gets 
to or below freezing.  Not that far to the east, though, there 
are ski areas!  And, a lot of the mountains, aka volcanoes, are 
snow capped the year round.  

Mount Rainier is not all that far away from me.  It is quite 
impressive as its base starts at virtually sea level.  IOW, 
its 4,392 meters is just that!
