Replying to a message from Steven Horn 1:17/67 to Bjoern Forsstroem, About Early hibernation?, On Sun Oct 26 2003 SH> I'll have to find out from my wife who is beginning to suffer from SH> arthritis if a warmer climate would treat her better. As for me, SH> I'm still reasonably healthy at least for the moment although my SH> eyes are giving me trouble. There is no cure or set treatment for arthritis, your wife is in for a painful ride, and it is not fun, I have arthritis in my knees, hips, and lower back. What I have found that helps a bit is excersise, and that is a double edge thing, it hurts to walk but if you don't walk you wont be able to walk. One other thing that "seems" to help is a product called GLS*, and if she can take it aspirin, for the swelling and pain, tylenol for the pain, some people can handle both at the same time. A change of climate will not help in the long term, all that would do is add more stress and stress contributes to flare ups of arthritis. Check out www.arthritis.ca. (if my memory serves). *Glucosomine Sulfate. With out this I figure I could not walk. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. We are a fine board trying to make it better. http://www.pris.bc.ca/ghannah ghannah{at}pris.bc.ca Cheers!
