I just wanted to jump in here and say real quick, that your "Crappy" connect
and CPS rates (above) are not bad at all. The new code probably won't help
much. I have been getting connects like you above quite happily for over a
year now. A 28800 or above connect requires a VERY clean phone line on both
your end and the end of the modem that you are calling (not to mention all
the connections in between). Until the whole world has fiber optics ran into
the back of their phones and modems, your are not always going to get the
"perfect" piece of copper to get the "perfect" connect. Honestly, I'd be
very happy with your current connects.. It's a whole lot better than 14.4K
