It has nothing to do with Opus or trust. I never bought it for a minute that
packet passwords offer any more security than session password, and are
therefore foolish and redundant.
If you do not run session password, but do run packet password, then I can
call your uplink using your address, pick up one of your packets and voila, I
have your packet password. Summary: foolish to run packet password without
session password.
If you do run session password, then no one can pick up or send mail as your
address. Summary: session password is sufficient and packet password is
redundant.
I find it difficult to believe that after this unholy number of years some
folks are still sold on the idea that packet passwords actually 'do'
something.
Your milage will not vary.
