RP> Ahhh...a fellow BBSer. Can you still get BBS numbers from
RP> Compuserve or have they eliminated that list? Seems like
RP> consumers have been getting the shaft where BBSs are concerned.
RP> It's either the internet or a big online service. The little
RP> guy (BBS sysops) is getting squeezed terribly. Too bad, since
RP> they offer a service that's still valuable.
Well they just can't compete on a National basis. Here in San Diego CA we
are down from Over 1000 BBS's on Line several years ago to arround 200.
With soem dying every week. It will bottom out thogh becaue we have a small
hard core group that will keep it going. But fro Average Towm america I see
them totaly fading away. But it the fault of the People. They bought into the
Glamor of the Internet. I have a unlimited account, Costing $8.25 per month
y
the way, throuhg a Local ISP. But still am loyal to several FIDO Net groups.
This one of course plus Ham, Scanner, and Automotive. But the traffic is
declining rappidly. SO the question is HOW messages per day do you post?
Without something to read and answer I can see no way in can help but
dissapear. Do You?
