| subject: | Re: multiple swap files? |
From: "Frank Haber" 1. I guess I wasn't clear. The OEM trick is to set, say, 768k min, 1532k max. Doesn't seem to get fragged much; rarely even gets used unless the user goes crazy with 80MB Pshop images, or a program goes ape. 2. I understand the move, delete, defrag thing - cleans up the swapfile and puts it in 1-3 pieces, if you trust the dfrg.msc display. I even dimly understand the fixed swapfile recommendation - hey, works for you. Are you telling me to put this big fixed thing on all physical drives? Please expand. (I just realized I'm talking academic, which I'm not. "Windows corrupts. All Windows corrupts absolutely. Discuss.") --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 396/45 106/2000 633/267 |
