Hi, Paul Quinn : Alexander Koryagin!
I read your message from 03.12.2018 05:37

AK>> You mean a submarine cannot sink? What they do, in English, when
 AK>> water rushes inside? ;-)

PQ> Ah, a diving boat. Yes. My apologies. I used the word in its

 PQ> naughty,

Do you think that an undersea city is differ than a submarine if we speak about
water rushing into them? No, no, living under water is more dangerous than
floating on water. In addition, an undersea city has another peculiarity - it
cannot rise from the sea bottom at all. ;-)

AK>> I think floating things safer, especially when they consists of
AK>> thousands of watertight compartments. If I design such a town I
AK>> would made it from big laced steel platforms, and every platform
AK>> is surrounded by thousands of watertight cisterns. Every cistern

PQ> Mmm... that sounds familiar. Is that how bridge foundations are
 PQ> formed?

IMHO the most close comparison is a pontoon bridge.

Bye, Paul!
