Nah, more likely it was the typical Microsoft dis'ing any idea until they
can sell a product for it.

About ten years ago I asked Microsoft if they had anything similar to IBM's
excellent MQ Series.  Microsoft reply was that message passing was not
needed in the modern computing environment, that there were others, better,
ways to accomplish the same goals.

Three months later, I was attending meetings about Microsoft's Viking
project (I think lead by Brian Valentine...) which was the code name for
Microsoft's answer to IBM's MQ Series.

Microsoft lies.  A lot.
