Replying to a message from Gary Gilmore 1:2410/400 to Gord Hannah,
About Seal Again :-((, On Fri Oct 23 1998
GG> This is exactly what it does here, and on our net's NEC machine,
GG> flawlessly. (and for years.)
GH> Seal *must* run on auto pilot, *I do not want to babysit it*.
GG> It does. You call it when you get new inbound mail, and it'll do
GG> it's thing.
GH> Backup=No
GG> Yes. Just for a safety copy, if nothing else.
Did that.
GH> Tic=C:\BBS\TIC.CFG
GG> If you don't want it doing files, you don't need anything here.
Did that
GH> Alias=AREAFIX,AREAMGR,ECHOMGR,SQAEM
GG> Add "Fastecho" and "GEcho" in there, just
"because". Remove
GG> "SQAEM", since it'll be pretty rare anyone will
"accidentally"
GG> address an areafix to that name.
Did as you suggested.
GH> Alias=RAID,TIC,TICK,FILEMGR,ALLFIX
GG> Remove these if you don't want it dealing with files.
Done.
GH> ; PROTECTED AREAS
GH> ;
GH> ; tag=type,level,locks
GG> Look at what it tells you on the layout of protected areas above,
GG> now look how you have them set up below:
GH> [ProtectedAreas]
GH> SHAREWARE_SUPPORT=Yes, ;I moderate this echo
GH> DIRTY_DOZEN=Yes, ;I co-moderate this echo
GH> ECHOLIST=Yes, ;Successful Echo List updates
GH> TERMINAT=Yes, ;I am a beta-tester here.
GH> VIRUS=Yes, ;I am acting Moderator.
GH> VIRUS_INFO=Yes, ;I am acting Moderator.
Removed all of these.
I still get the following from Seal.log:

I will carry this on via Internet if you wish. It is becoming obvious to
me that I need some tutoring on this.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
We are a fine board trying to make it better.
