I know.. but my fish are still having problems! Now one of them
has a bright red belly, and my aquarium book says that it could
be Ascites, due to poor water conditions.. the exact same thing
it said about the fish that had the bulging eye! When I tested
the water, the PH was about 9.0! I lowered it with chemicals
once, but I'm due to check it again.. in MI (where my book is
from) a high PH meant bad news..

I have had the air on most every day now.. and I keep it a little
cooler than you do.. so I can't figure out why my temperature is
STILL pushing 84-86 degrees! That is not good.. I don't know if
I have a flourescent bulb, or incandescent, but I only turn the
light on at night.. I'm wondering if my outside thermometer is off
a couple of degrees? Maybe they get old and don't keep the correct
     temperature?
I know you don't have any problems with the PH, but I am having
SOME sort of problem. I realize the tank is new, and only been up
for about 2 weeks now.. so I expect my (cheap) fish to die. But,
the things they are dying from are what concerns me.. :)
