You're listening to the words of another human.  It does not matter how
smart he is or what background he has.  Just because he says something does
not necessarily make it true.  After all, I don't think anyone believes me
when I tell them the Earth is unseasonably warm because our Sun keeps
throwing fireballs at the Earth heating up the atmosphere.
