Different intelligence agencies failed to share information, which is
probably why al-Qaeda was able to do what it did.

Saddam never did have any kind of WMD arsenal.  At least, not after
1991.

Afghanistan was a poor country before the events of 9-11.  Afghanistan
is still a poor country today.  Afghanistan will still be a poor country
ten years from now, a century from now, or a thousand years from now.

The British did nothing to help the Afghan people a century ago.
The Russians did nothing to help the Afghan people two decades ago.
The Americans are doing very little to help the Afghan people today.

Nobody cares about the poor people of Afghanistan.  Osama bin Laden
and his al-Qaeda friends do not care about them.  The Taliban do not
care about them.  The warlords running the country do not care about
them.  The whole world does not care about them.

Now if Afghanistan had oil everybody would care about them.  Just like
everybody cares about Iraq.  Or is it the oil in Iraq that people care
about?
