You could...but also give the freeware program "Spam Buster" a try.
It is very versatile in the way it filters an detects spam and it also
supports a bit of backtracing....it is just good as my own codestuff (bit
different though) and very easy to use...and, above all, very flexible in
filter configuration.

And fun to tweak :-)
