I have seen film of a mouse breathing a liquid medium without any apparent
harm. They dumped him right into an aquarium of the stuff, and he just
wandered around the bottom for a while. I don't know what it was, but I'm
certain it wasn't liquid nitrox. At the time, they were talking about the
possibilities of developing artificial gills for man to extract oxygen from
the water.
No doubt if they succeed, then the diving equipment companies will jump
aboard. Then the Scubapro Gill(tm) will be better than any other
manufacturers artificial gill.
