JP>-> JP>Oh, I don't know. If you're good enough to take head shots, and
JP>-> hit JP>every time, than a 9mm will have EXACTLY the same stopping
JP>-> power as a
JP>-> JP>.45 - 100%.
JP>->
JP>-> I hate to disagree (no, not really) but...
JP>->
JP>-> There are documented cases of 9mm rounds (JHP I think) getting
JP>-> "stuck" partway in the skull bone because they didn't penetrate
JP>-> the bone completely.
JP>I don't mean to cast aspersions on your veracity, Dave. (To use a Benny
JP>Hill-ism. ) I'm just surprised to hear that. I've heard of mousegun
JP>calibers such as the .25 having this problem, but given how penetrative
JP>9mm is, well, I'm just surprised.
JP>If you can remember, were these cases where the 9mm head shot wasn't
JP>fatal, or were these true cases of failure-to-stop, ie: the perp
JP>shrugged it off and continued to return fire?
JP>The former seems a lot more credible than the later, I would think.
JP>But then the world is a strange & wondrous place . . .
One problem I've noticed a lot is that the medical & police types tend to
count any ÷.355" diameter bullet as a "9mm", doesn't matter to them if
it's a .380, 9mm, .38, etc.
