Hello Kurt and others,

Yes, but if FoIP fails, and time is short,
the RC could also send his voting mail once via POTS.
As Janis has both, she could after receiving ML's vote by POTS,
send it directly (and automatically) via Fido over IP immediately,
and so in time before the closing moment!
Let this be a lesson for next elections if a connection fails (again).

But at the other point of view, why wait until the very last moment?
Then you are taking an unnecessarry risk of missing the deadline.

And for your information, yes UniCorn BBS is POTS only,
but in case of emergency I can use FoIP with my Point 1 system.
My third option is sending and receiving faxes with the same machine and modem.
In the livingroom I also have a DTMF text-telephone, and in the pocket a GSM
for SMSing ;-).
Hmm, if my ADSL line is down, I can use my 3G prepaid simcard router with WiFi.
As the sun of an inland skipper and a deaf men, it is allways wise to have more
options to choose from, whatever the problem is that has to be solved.
Good luck when voting in future. But FidoNet is not a first life issue.
Henri.
