I started in Borland Turbo C++ for Windows v4.5 about 12 months ago, and
decided that I was never going to get the hang of the language without a
book, so I bought "Teach Yourself BTC++ for Windows v4.5" (surprisingly
appropriate) and thereafter began to program in Windows. I don't know if
you're just a DOS person or not however (more of this to follow). Despite
buying it here in the UK, it does have a price for the States, $29.99 -
sounds like a lot, but it weighs a TON. This is a serious book! It's got
all the stuff from basic C++ (DOS) to Multiple-Document-Interfaces - MDIs
(for Windows).

Right - I would STRONGLY recommend getting hold of a copy of Borland C++
Windows v4.5 'cos we got it free on a Cover CD here - full version - allowing
you to build DOS apps, Win16s (3.x/386) AND Win32s ('95+NT)... If you can't
get hold of a copy I suppose I could probably mail it to ya - cost a bit
tho'...
Anyway - whether you want the compiler or not - mail me for a chat! - How old
are you BTW?
See ya,
Neil
