Why is that? I backup NT4 machines all day long with no need of agents and
when I do a restore I get the whole machine back.

You know what I think, I think all the copy protection and other garbage
that the user isn't supposed to control anymore is making computers way
more expensive and complex than need be and when the revolution comes the
people pushing for this reduced control are going to be the first against
the wall.
