Bill, I really really despise the people who would make me slave to their
schemes. I don't respect them and have a hard time pretending to respect
them.
In a way, being a kid is kinda liberating. You don't have to worry about
what your boss or other adults will think of you. You have less at stake
and less to lose.

Sure, he could easily outwit a teenager in a war of words. But that doesn't
mean I wouldn't have tried.
To be honest though, it wasn't until I was about 23 that I read the right
books to truly see that these people I oppose really are promoting
"The Road to Serfdom". So I might not have been sufficiently
unconfused as a teen to make an argument with someone like Bradley then. It
is hard to recall my teenage mental state clearly enough to know what I
would have said.
However, as a teen I was already beginning to see that people in authority
should not automatically be granted legitimacy by treating them with
respect because that legitimacy is what lets them do what they shouldn't
do.
