MF ->I emphasized "GOING TO COST" because the story sounded like that they
   ->haven't taken steps yet to solve the year 2000 problem, even though it's
   ->less than three years away.
There was a comment from an Administration type that they would have
all Year 2000 problems in the government fixed by November 1999.
Right.
I also just saw an article where the Department of Defense issued a
contract with a completion date of January 2000. Their computer
promptly informed the contractor they were 97 years behind schedule.
Wonder what the late penalties came to?
Also saw an article that ATMs are having a problem because of the MM/YY
coding. And saw that a credit card company couldn't issue credit cards
past 1999.
Check your stuff that has an expiration date. If it used to have a
four year life, for example, and now it's less, you'll know why!
