We too are running Backup Exec (Veritas). It was installed long prior to
my arrival. I've learned how to use it, it works very well, reliable for
our use. Both backup source servers have AIT drives in them (single). The
one that came up from Atlanta backs up our SQL server, and two other
machines on that domain, and the one that was on the Nashville domain,
handles things across 4 machines. I have no idea what the cost was
though, as it was setup prior to my arrival.
