With luck, you can open them there. I think your problem is due to the following issue: You encrypted the files on computer A. The files are now on computer B. A has the private key needed to decrypt the files. B does not. When you sit at A and try to access them over the network, it is actually B that has to read the file and send it. B needs the private key to do that.
