You don't think correctly, then. Most hobbyists *do* use software that has
been properly bought and paid for. I've known some that use compilers that
have been scrounged off people who bought them and then never used them, or
that they have been given lock, stock, and barrel by a friend who no longer
requires them -- but under the terms of most software licences this is
perfectly legitimate, as it falls well within the "use it as you would use a
book" constraints.
