Yes sort of, the glue record puts www.yourdomain.com into your cache, which
is checked before you query the responsible name servers. The trick works
with any name you want to use, news.yourdomain.com or ftp.yourdomain.com or
even mail.yourdomain.com and since most registrars give you the ability to
list 3 or even 5 NS records you can pretty much cover everything including
a sort of MX record by making the mail server simply yourdomain.com.

It's a very slick trick to get machine names into someone's dns cache. (it
can be used for evil too )
