I've been working on a BASIC program that translates Wildcat! screens to MEC 
which I then run through MECCA.  Anyway the ^D character (among others) has 
special meaning to Maximus and has been causing me problems.  I tried the 
using the [repeat][1] but this resulted in the string "



" which wasn't 
quite what I had in mind. ;-)
