LJ> You've got better ears than most of the people I've played it for, then.
LJ> That's exactly how it was done, but hardly anyone has been able to
etect
LJ> it so far.
I seem to have a knack for this. I seem to be able to tell immediately
whether an effect is unique or stock. I've been known to shout out "hey,
that's a Doom effect," or "that's a stock scream!" One Mountain Dew
commercial is almost nothing BUT stock screams, in fact!
Maybe, if I get hired by you people (and I'd like to), I ought to be an
associate music producer. You compose music and match effects with game
events, while I just go out and find interesting sounds effects and music.
:-)
LJ> No, it's just some guy from one of my Hollywood Edge CDs. The girl,
LJ> however, isn't generic - it's Keith Schuler's wife, Rose.
I know the sound effects are stock (once again, that ear of mine), I was
just thinking it was a Ritual employee in spirit. I'm sure you people may
have been tempted to put in a nasty reference to Scourge of Armagon or Sin
somewhere, just like what you did with Tomb Raider... if not in Shadow
Warrior, then in Duke Nukem Forever.
LJ> No news yet. Watch this space.
I still say Econoline Crush and/or the Tea Party would be good choices.
They've both got adrenaline-fueled hard rock, and being Canadian, they're
naturally good. Have you heard the Tea Party's "Babylon" yet, by the
way?
PS Just to rip the guts of American music out: Steppenwolf, who made the
classic "Born to Be Wild," was actually Canadian. The band was originally
named Sparrow.
