I _did_ have an error in that post, as a matter of fact:  I suggested
AT&F1&W1 in the first instance and that should have been AT&F1&W.
USR modems are a little different than most, though, in that ATZ
doesn't necessarily load the NVRAM Profile 0 - it can load _either_
the 0 or 1 profile, depending on the Y command.  ATZ1 _always_ loads
Profile 0 and ATZ2 _always_ loads Profile 1.  Also, the ATZn commands
load the speed at which the port was running when the profile was
stored, which can cause some problems when expecting the modem to
answer a call if the port speed has been changed.
