If it doesn't, that means that the BIOS on the video card doesn't have
support for it. Any mode that is officially supported by the BIOS *should*
also support this function under that video mode. If the video mode is not
officially supported, then don't bet on it.
If the card has VESA support, I believe there's a VESA function that returns
information on whether the BIOS has support for a particular VESA-supported
mode; you might check into this to confirm. Of course, if the mode is not in
the list provided by the VESA function, then don't the BIOS to support it,
unless you can switch to a compatible mode that the BIOS does support and
then manually change the mode registers to the mode that you want. This, of
course, is not a good idea, since it'd be incompatible with a lot of stuff.
