Pain relief for those in need has become vastly more difficult for
those with need due to the "war on drugs."

Used to be a M.D. G.P. could just prescribe.
Now you need a MRI, see an orthopedic surgeon and then go
to a pain management clinic to get relief.

I can't even afford the co-pays for all this.

OTOH an aquaintance of mine went to the emergency room 11
times last year for prescription drug overdoses!

The 12th time he went straight to the morgue.

An out and out drug addict not welcome in my home for years he had no
trouble at all getting all the prescription narcotics he wanted.
He was downing 40 - 60 narcotic pills a day.

I called last January and got "number no longer in service."
Immediately I went to www.sptimes.com and checking the obituaries
found he'd died Dec. 25, 2004.

I'd been expecting this for quite some time, he was 43.

I'd be grateful for the pills he took in two days for an entire
year's time span.

-> If our government saw three cents mark-up for a box of band-aids,
-> they'd make a work project to turn straw into wound dressings.
