LG>I'm Curious Jerry, just how is this illegal? What law is it against
LG>to sell a product that looks like something else as long as it is
LG>advertised as such. I'm afraid Jerry that you have your facts very
LG>mixed up. I'm an attorney and there is nothing wrong with what Stan
LG>is doing at all. However, had Stan advertised the watches as the
LG>real thing, when in fact, they were not then he would be in
LG>violation of several commerce and trade laws on a Federal level
LG>using the phone system, I.e. (Modem) to commit such an act of
LG>defraudment.
Just for my own knowledge, wouldn't something like copyright (patent,
trademark, etc ) infringements come into play here?
Actually. The company only has a patent on the name. They hold no patent
on the device (watch) itself. Since he is selling look alikes, and has
advertised them as such, then there is no illeagal activity.
