| subject: | CD-ROM audio cable |

White and blank connection, second ground, left channel audio are swapped here beteen CD drive and Sound card. Seems my problem was more a problem of failing eyesight than electronics. Once brought to my attention I broke out the magnifier and a trouble lamp, saw the markings stamped on the back of the drive and all became clear. As to snagging a new sound card that is unneccesary as I've already got a PCI Turtle Beach sound card in the machine but lack Win 3.1 drivers for it. Moving to Win 95 on the new drive where that card should work just fine. WC>I require some help or suggestions with a problem here.
