I think the dual DSL approach is worth a try, with two hardware VPNboxen.

I found that Speakeasy, one of my fave ISPs, now has a VPN managed
solution. They sell you two $600 Juniper boxes, then charge you $50-100 a
month over the DSL rate, 1 yr contract to totally remote-manage the whole
shebang.  I'm going to sniff around and see whether there are satisfied
customers.  A grand a year seems a bit stiff, since there won't be much
manging here - I doubt they're going to open a bunch of different ports
every week and play server.  Sure is intriguing for an ever-changing setup
where you're shorthanded for admin, though.  I wonder what Speakeasy's
tolerance for dog work is (g).
