Yeah, he should have run out and got a PC Card Firewire port, then mounted
the drive in a USB/FW case (or two, comparing chipsets), for comparison. 
Then he should have disabled services in a binarily stochastic fashion
until he got to any that offended.  Then he should have compared with Giga
Ether and Serial ATA, and reported to us in triplicate.

Sometimes folks are so lazy.
