From: John Beckett I believe there is no check when adding a new user, to see if the user name is the same as a computer name. That is, you can easily add a user with the name of a computer. Try this at command prompt: net user "%computername%" /add net user "%computername%" net user "%computername%" /delete ISTR there is (or at least was under NT4) a noticeable error message, probably on each reboot. The problem is quite benign, it just means you can't receive 'net send' and similar messages sent to the user.
